Sodium carbonate, also called soda ash is an anhydrous, colourless or white odourless soluble crystalline compound powder. It is with alkaline taste and very stable at ordinary temperatures and atmospheric conditions. It is freely soluble in water and insoluble in ethanol.

Sodium carbonate is an essential raw material in glass, chemicals, detergents and other important industrial products. It is widely used in light industry, daily chemicals, matallurgy, textile, food industry, etc.
Glass: the glass industry is the largest consumer sector of soda ash;
Detergent: it is used as detergent in wool rinsing, medicine and tanning;
Printing and dyeing: it is used as water softener;
Buffer: used as buffering agent, neutralized and dough improver. It can be used for pastry and noodles, etc.
In food industry: used as flavoring agent, antioxidant, pH control agent, curing or pickling agent and processing acid for foods.
