Aluminum sulfate is a widely used coagulant. Under natural conditions, it almost never exists in anhydrous salt form. It forms a series of hydrates, among which aluminum sulfate hexahydrate is the most common.
Basic uses:
1. Used as a paper sizing agent in the papermaking industry to enhance the paper's water resistance and impermeability;
2. When dissolved in water, it can cause fine particles and natural colloids in the water to coagulate into large flocs, thereby removing them from the water. Therefore, it is used as a coagulant for water supply and wastewater treatment;
3. Used as a turbid water purifier, and also as a precipitant, fixing agent, and filler. 4. In cosmetics, it is used as an antiperspirant (astringent);
5. In the fire protection industry, it is used with baking soda and foaming agents to form foam fire extinguishers;
6. It is used as an analytical reagent, mordant, tanning agent, oil decolorizing agent, and wood preservative;
7. It is used as a stabilizer for albumin pasteurization (including liquid or frozen whole eggs, egg whites, or yolks);
8. It can be used as a raw material in the manufacture of artificial gemstones and high-grade ammonium alum, and other aluminates;
9. In the fuel industry, it is used as a precipitant in the production of chrome yellow and lake dyes, and also acts as a color fixative and filler;
10. It is used as a curing agent (for removing impurities from oils, water, etc.) and as a stabilizer for albumin pasteurization.
Ferrous aluminum sulfate: The solid product is a white granular or flaky, lustrous white crystal. It is stable in air. It is readily soluble in water, almost insoluble in ethanol, and the solution is acidic. Upon prolonged boiling, an insoluble basic salt precipitate forms. Ferrous aluminum sulfate is a widely used industrial reagent and is often confused with alum (i.e., potassium aluminum sulfate dodecahydrate). Aluminum sulfate is commonly used as a flocculant in the purification of drinking water and in wastewater treatment equipment, as well as in the sizing of high-grade white paper and the post-treatment of high-grade titanium dioxide.

Low-ferrous aluminum sulfate: Industrial aluminum sulfate (Al2(SO4)3), orthorhombic crystal, density 1.69 g/mL (25℃). Industrial-grade aluminum sulfate is pale green or pale yellow due to the presence of Fe2+ ions in the raw materials. In the paper industry, it is used as a precipitant for rosin, wax emulsions, and other adhesives; as a flocculant in drinking water, industrial water, and industrial wastewater treatment; as an internal residue in foam fire extinguishers; as a raw material for manufacturing alum and aluminum dioxide; as a decolorizing and deodorizing agent for petroleum; and as a raw material for certain pharmaceuticals. It can also be used to manufacture artificial gemstones and high-grade ammonium alum. Solubility: Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, etc.
Class I: For drinking water treatment.
Class II: For industrial water, wastewater, and sewage treatment.
Packaging: Laminated woven bags or lined with plastic bags, net weight 25/50 kg per bag.
